Help students build conversation turn taking, reciprocal conversation, and being a good friend with these two “playing with friends” social stories. This video includes both versions of the story: a simple rhyming version for early learners and a more language-rich version using the C.H.A.T. steps (Calm body, Hear my friend, Add a comment or question, Take turns).

These stories model how to wait for a break, start a conversation, keep it going, and end it politely. They also teach whole-body listening, flexible thinking, and how to stay connected in a group—even when the topic isn’t your favorite.

Use this video in your classroom, social skills groups, SEL lessons, ABA sessions, or speech therapy to help students learn how to talk with peers, listen, ask questions, and build stronger friendships.
