- Lumen Technologies is a telecommunications company. It is one of the largest US communications provider to global enterprise customer. Its communications services include local and long-distance voice, broadband, Ethernet, video, network, information technology & much more. It has customers in more than 60 countries.

- In Sep of 2020, CenturyLink, announced that it had changed its name to Lumen Technologies. The stock ticker changed from CTL to LUMN. The main reason the company changed its name to Lumen was to get a fresh start and to hopefully move away from Centurylink's past struggles. CenturyLink will continue to be the customer-facing brand for traditional copper-based services. A copper-based internet connection is the standard connection type that has been used for over 100 years. Fiber-based products and services will use the brand Quantum Fiber. The reason Century Link merged with Level 3 in 2016 was to capitalize on the more advanced fiber technology. Lumen has laid down 450k miles of fiber network. The company received a large amount of tax subsidies by doing this.
