Dubai: Exploring Deira Gold Souq

It’s a 10 minutes walk from Al Ras Metro Station, this traditional market offers hundreds of stores selling primarily gold, silver and other precious stone jewelry in intricate Arab and Indian designs such as platinum and diamonds. Located in Diera, Dubai Gold Souk is bordered to the north by the Dubai fish and vegetable market and the Deira corniche near Baniyas Square at Sikkat al-Khali Street which is in close proximity to the Deira Bus Stand. On the other side of the Dubai Creek lies Dubai Textile Souk.

No trip to Dubai can be complete without visiting the Deira Gold Souk. It’s worth a trip even if you don’t intend on buying gold, although, among the myriad of stunning pieces of jewellery, you just might change your mind. The exquisite craftsmanship of jewellers makes this gold market unlike any other. Some of these jewellers have been in the business for decades. Thus, visitors are guaranteed to find amongst the biggest selection of gold and precious gemstones here with wide variety of choices, cheaper prices and of pure quality. Among the popular jewellery shops you can find here are Malabar Gold and Diamonds, Bafleh Jewellery and Joyalukkas. Timings: 10am to 10pm daily except Fridays, which opens at 4pm after prayers.
