I Spent Over $4,000 Building DIY Gaming Computers With My Sons! - Thrift Diving

AD: I teamed up with Exclusive Tech Repairs to build DIY gaming computers for my sons. My 16- and 13-year-old sons' laptops died within a couple weeks of each other, which led me to hire Jose Guevara, owner of Exclusive Tech Repairs, in an attempt to fix them both. Jose told me that he not only repairs computers, but also builds them. I had met Jose just the previous week because his daughter and my youngest son are friends.

I told Jose that I have always wanted for my sons to learn how to build computers! I didn't want to just buy them new ones after their laptops died. Jose was awesome enough to donate his time to teach my boys how to build their own high-tech gaming computers!

Follow along as we went to Micro Center in Rockville, Maryland to buy all of the components and then, under Jose's instruction, we all learned the fascinating steps to build their own DIY gaming computers. What a great experience!

These computers will last the kids for probably 10 years, with state-of-the-art components. And hopefully, this experience sparks their love of computer technology and not just playing video games, but knowing how to build them with components that support their favorite video games!

Stay tuned because we'll be making over our "formal" living room where the kids have their computers set up. We'll be turning this area into a "gaming room," adding new standing desks so the kids don't sit down for hours, as well as cozy places to cuddle up. You don't want to miss that!
