Assassin's Creed Combat Comparison - Older Games To Newer Games

When Assassin's Creed first came out it was pretty unique in every way. When it came to combat in AC1 and 2, the games had a learning curve to them. You were given few options when encountered with an enemy, though making the right move could be both flashy and satisfying. In Brotherhood up to AC4, the combat was ultimately simplified you were now able to you string together big groups of enemies without being touched. The combat became nice to look at but very easy to master. In Unity they seemed to be taking a step back to the roots. No more could you chain together massive groups of enemies effortlessly, in fact having to fight more than a handful of enemies became dangerous. Syndicate seemed to be a mix between old and new ultimately not satisfying either. For Origins and Odyssey the combat of AC has been altered beyond imagine, not because this combat has never been seen before. But because this hitbox system was completely new to the AC franchise, making you feel not like an Assassin but a hard-headed warrior when fighting face to face. I'd have to say overall Unity pulled off the best combat in AC. It's not the best looking combat in AC but it brings the best challenge as well as realism & fantasy. Untiy makes you feel great without giving you the feeling of overconfidence.
