Building a Sawdust/Composting toilet

After visiting some Permie friends a while back and seeing their composting toilet I decided that I also absolutely need one (we will not discuss my jealousy about the fact that they had one and I didn't). The other examples I saw were all made out of wood (either self-made or bought). I wanted something different.
So, what was wrong with the existing toilet? Well, if there is a power failure, I can't flush it because the water gets to the toilet with electricity. Then, there is the matter of the water. Why do we insist on flushing our toilets with clean, drinking water? In our climate? Also, the drain isn't very big and a friend told me a while back, that she thinks that sucker is going to block up soon because the water does some strange things when you flush it.
This got me thinking that a composting toilet is a GREAT idea. Thus the project was born.
I removed the existing one and the process of building started. My material of choice was bottles and cement. The wall at the back wasn't finished yet (and would probably never have gotten finished) so this gave me the perfect excuse to complete everything. I used empty booze bottles for the most part, but there are a couple of others in the mix for the sharp-sighted to find. The seat from the old toilet became the seat for the new one. A piece of laminated board that was lying around became the base. All the cement was mixed by hand (a task that I, years ago, took a solemn oath never to do again). All of a sudden I also have an outlet for the sawdust that collects when I do any wood work and a steady stream of compost for the garden.
Before I knew it my toilet was ready, the wall looked beautiful and all the kids riding out the corona epidemic on the farm lined up to ask me if they could, ummm . . . "use" the convenience.
