Great news because President Trump renewed calls for Congress to pass individual coronavirus relief measures, including more aid for airlines and direct checks for many Americans, after he halted negotiations with Democrats on a larger package until after the election. Just hours after Trump called off stimulus completely last night, the president seemed set to shift course again and in a series of overnight tweets he said that he was “ready to sign right now” if he was sent a stand-alone bill for sending $1,200-checks to Americans. Trump said “the House & Senate should IMMEDIATELY Approve 25 Billion Dollars for Airline Payroll Support, & 135 Billion Dollars for Paycheck Protection Program for Small Business. Both of these will be fully paid for with unused funds from the Cares Act. Have this money. I will sign now!” This is a complete shift from hours before when he said no stimulus until after the election and makes people wonder why he is flip flopping his stance constantly and if everything he said about delaying stimulus was just as a negotiating tactic. Then after that he goes on to say “ If I am sent a Stand Alone Bill for Stimulus Checks ($1,200), they will go out to our great people IMMEDIATELY. I am ready to sign right now. Are you listening Nancy?”. On top of this he came out Wednesday morning and said again for Congress to “Move Fast, I Am Waiting To Sign!”So this ultimately sounds like good news now but lets break down what it exactly means.

No matter what trump is saying right now, we know that a second stimulus package passing will definitely help his reelection for president. That is why yesterday people were shocked as to why trump was delaying stimulus until after the election when that hurt the American people who need money now and hurt his chances in getting reelected. As it stands now we will need to wait and see how Nancy Pelosi and other top lawmakers in Congress will respond to Trump’s sudden change to be pushing for more stimulus again. But, with time running short before the election, Trump and his aides are now seeking to pass a series of bills, an approach Democrats have consistently rejected as at odds with their goal of a broad multi-trillion-dollar aid package. Congressional aides said that efforts between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to reach another agreement were largely over after Mr. Trump declared talks on hold, despite later tweets in which he called for targeted assistance.
