D'oh for the People

In this heartwarming Springfield tale, Homer bets Ned Flanders at the church fundraiser, sparking a town-wide look at what truly matters. The two neighbors clash over prize money and pride, while the Kwik-E-Mart becomes a chaotic battleground for bragging rights. Bart hatches mischief to game the system, but Lisa intervenes with a community-first plan that proves even a rival can spark cooperation. A running gag has Homer sliding past Moe’s, crashing into a pile of trash, as the church bell rings and D'ohs echo through town. Ned greets the crowd with his cheerful, "hi-diddly-ho," inviting everyone to join in and cheer for neighborliness. Cut to the Simpsons’ kitchen, where Marge scolds, and the kids observe—their reactions hinting at a bigger lesson. Lisa mediates with calm reason, while Ned, ever the optimist, smiles and calls on everyone to adopt neighborinos as a sign of unity. The town bands together to build a festive community fair at Springfield Park, transforming a rivalry into collaboration. By the end, Homer learns that the true prize is the sense of belonging that comes from putting the community first, and Ned grins as peace returns to Springfield.
