Boomerang Cyclotrac V2 and its App version 3.0.0

Had the Cyclotrac V2 a while now. After my first V2 failed in less than a week I hoped for better when I received its replacement.

Alas, there was no improvement, so I took it upon myself to do a few improvements.
1. I replaced the battery with a larger capacity one as the original didn't even last a day of use or a week on standby.
2. While the internal PCB might be OK for use on a dry blazing hot beach it's completely useless here in dripping wet England as it has no waterproofing at all. So I added my own "Conformal Coating" to the PCB.

My attempts at improving the V2 have helped, but it's still very far from being useful. which is very disappointing considering its price of £100.

Firmware updates haven't really helped, battery life increased slightly, but tracking accuracy is way off. Let's not mention the "Alarm" function, it just doesn't work properly. 3 times I've had to ride home with the alarm constantly sounding as I was unable to turn it off.

And last but not least. The Cyclotrac V2 App is now just taking up space on my S20 Ultra 5G because its useless to now.

I really wanted the V2 to work, did as much as I could to help, reporting faults and fixes. Even subscribed to Beta testing the app. But got nothing in return, not even feedback from my first broken V2 which I paid the cost of returning it in the hope I'd know why it failed.

Overall I'm very disappointed with it all, the device, the app and Kevin and his team. From what I've seen online, no one is genuinely happy with their V2 ..
