The Battle of the Plains of Abraham in 1759 was one of the most daring attacks in history, a risky gamble that ultimately paid off for Britain and resulted in France losing control of Canada and most of her North American possessions.
General James Wolfe led a small British army on a risky nighttime amphibious assault that took the French by surprise and resulted in the capture of Quebec and fall of Canada.
