YIN YOGA FOR LOW BACK & HIPS - 50 minutes all levels

Join me in this 50 minute Yin Yoga for low back and hips. In this practice we will explore the slower, quieter side of a yoga practice as we stay in each of the postures for a few minutes. By staying in the poses for longer periods of time we allow ourselves to access, stimulate and strengthen the deeper tissues in the body. Yin practices are a great way to bring a sense of balance to your yoga routine, which can often times be dominated by the more vigorous, yang like practices of hatha or vinyasa . We will begin with a few minutes of breath focused meditation, and the we will explore caterpillar, butterfly and shoelace postures to get at our hips. We will spend some time in puppy, child's, and sphinx poses for our backs. These will be followed with a set of reclined twists and a final rest in savasana. Feel free to make use of whatever you might like for support in these postures, be it a few blankets, some towels, a pillow or two, a bolster, some yoga blocks... you get the idea. Also, feel free to not use any props at all if that is more your speed today. So, settle in and enjoy!
