Thomas Arne’s Eight Sonatas or Lessons for the Harpsichord (1756) are pivotal English classical works, bridging baroque styles with emerging classical galant sensibilities. First published in London by J. Walsh, this collection features eight distinct, multi-movement sonatas (including F major, E minor, G major, D minor, B-flat major, G minor, A major, and G major) popular for their melodic, accessible nature.

Eiji Hashimoto (7 August 1931 – 14 January 2021) was a Japanese harpsichordist, orchestra conductor, and classical music professor. You can read an obituary here: https://www.youngfamilyfuneralhomes.com/obituaries/Eiji-Hashimoto?obId=23899327

Thomas Augustine Arne (12 March 1710 – 5 March 1778) was an English composer of the late Baroque and early Classical periods. He is known for his patriotic song "Rule, Britannia!" and the song "A-Hunting We Will Go", the latter composed for a 1777 production of The Beggar's Opera, which has since become popular as a folk song and a nursery rhyme. Arne was a leading British theatre composer of the 18th century, working at the West End's Drury Lane and Covent Garden. He wrote many operatic entertainments for the London theatres and pleasure gardens, as well as concertos, sinfonias and sonatas.
