Behind the Scenes at Pitzhanger: Conservatory and Colonnade

Welcome back to the final episode in our short series of films exploring the restoration and renewal of Pitzhanger Manor.

The project aimed to return Pitzhanger Manor to Sir John Soane’s original design, and a major element of this is the recreation of the conservatory on the west side of the Manor, rebuilt exactly to Soane’s extensive designs. Here, Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery Trustee Richard Flenley takes you behind the scaffolding to see the conservatory’s elaborate construction. He also explores the colonnade, as mentioned in episode five, which has been reconstructed following the removal of the Victorian infill building.
