Building the kinetic sculpture Cepheid, based on plans by Derek Hugger.
The baltic birch parts were cut out using a Hegner scroll saw with a #7 skip tooth blade. The parts were finished with spray lacquer and wax. The stain used was Carver rosewood. This project is as much an exercise in precision drilling as it is precision cutting. The most useful tip in the video is how to apply and remove paper patterns on wood.
