Nashik Wine Country - Nipha Winery | Indian Travel (March 2024)

This one is quite the story.

On March 16, 2024, Manoj Jagtrap "The Wine Friend" of Nashik Wine Tours, took me on an excellent tour of the region. For each of the wineries we visited, I am sharing the extended cut of the tour and tasting. This one was for Nipha Winery.

Over the years I have visited many wineries in my travels, but every once in a while you stumble across something really unexpected and special. While in Nashik, that place was Nipha Winery. With the story of a scientist doing penguin research in Antarctica returning to his roots and discovering a passion for wine, the care, attention and the embodiment of the collective family spirit, this should be a must visit place if you ever visit Nashik. Their sparkling Zinfandel was mind warping insanely good. It’s spectacular. The finesse is stunning. A total #CultWine that delivers! Their still wine portfolio was very good too, with their Shiraz-Cabernet Sauvignon being the standout. These are incredibly and lovingly crafted wines that are well suited for pairing with Indian cuisine. If you go, make a true visit out of your tasting. Stop for a pizza made by the most adorable pizza chef on the planet and an espresso-based beverage at the coffee shop. The story of how these other products/experiences on site is quite something. If you do visit, slow down, and take the time to absorb the intricate care and attention to their wine and foods and love that this family puts into the Nipha experience.
