The Autism Interest Double Standard | Communication

This is an observation I've made concerning the way people handle their interests on the spectrum and those not on the spectrum. Both neurotypicals and autistics talk about things they're interested in - and oftentimes neither is all that interested in the other's (small-talk or the inner workings of tiny clocks).

I think we can ALL work on how we handle each other and realize that sometimes we get highly offended that someone's not TOTALLY INTO whatever we're talking to while easily brushing off the seemingly trivial, drab conversation of neurotypical individuals.

Just some thoughts to share today - nothing super scientific or whatnot.
