In the wake of possible budget re-allocation, THE SKIN DEEP worked with Richmond, CA Police Chief Bisa French to foster conversations that revealed the depth and complexity of the woman behind the badge and the relationships in her life. This week we will be sharing that story across multiple days and conversations. Bisa and Sekou are police chiefs of two different precincts, but bond over the similarities (and differences) in their duties. They discuss what it's like being a Black police officer in 2021, as well as what they do in order to prepare their teams to do the best they can do and how they assist each other.
