Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra | Dana Alfardan - Spirit of Thunder

At the beginning of 2021, Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra performed at the Opening Concert for the Qatar-USA Year of Culture.

Although there was (and still is) a worldwide pandemic, rest assured that all the precautionary measures were taken to make the event safe. The Philharmonic was honoured to perform at such an important event in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani. Here is the performance of ‘Spirit of Thunder’ composed by the talented Qatari composer, Dana Alfardan.

Our international orchestra – established in 2007, and a member of Qatar Foundation – blends Western and Arabic music with the aim of building cultural bridges, and inspiring future generations in Qatar and across the Arab world to appreciate music and preserve its legacy.
