Podcaster Playbook: Grow Your Show & Wrap Up! Part 18/18

Starting a podcast to see mind bogglingly huge numbers is the wrong reason to start a podcast.

It will take time to grow your audience, and while there are things you can do to help promote your show, let's focus on what's most effective: building a community and growing organic word of mouth.

Of course, there's no shortcut for these methods. The only way to do it is to build an authentic relationship with your audience and be consistent with your publishing. This WILL take time, so be patient!

ACTION ITEMS-
•Do you want to use social media to promote your show? If so, which platforms? 

•What are some fun and interesting ways to share your show? Instead of just dropping a link, you can take a behind the scenes photo, share a clip from the episode, talk about something you learned from the episode, or anything else that gives people a unique insight to your episode

•Ask your guest (if you have one) to promote the episode to their audience

•Go easy on yourself. According to data from Buzzsprout, a podcast episode that gets more than 28 downloads in the first week is in the top 50% of all podcasts! Remember that every download is a real person who has chosen to spend their time with something you've created– that's awesome.
