Hessisch Oldendorf VW Show 2013 2

Every four years during European mid-summer a little German town located in lower Saxony on the river Weser becomes a hub of activity for the vintage VW enthusiasts. Towards the end of June 2013 Hessisch Oldendorf, or HO as it is affectionately known, gave up its idyllic peace and quiet for three days when the streets of this sleepy little town come alive with the whine and crunch of non-synchronised gearboxes and the smell of half burned fuel. HO is located just over 100 Km from Wolfsburg and 40 Km from Hanover both important landmarks in VW history. What started back in mid-nineties as a small gathering of vintage VWs held in a car park has now grown into an event that attracts cars from all over Europe and beyond and enthusiasts from every continent of the world all speaking the same language - the language of the Volkswagen.
