Angela Rayner challenges Boris Johnson over Covid testing capacity

Boris Johnson has defended the government's testing capacity for Covid-19 and has pledged 500,000 tests per day by October.

Questioned by Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner today during Prime Minister Questions over whether all care homes have weekly tests, the Prime Minister said: "yes, to the best of my knowledge".

The Prime Minister said Ms Rayner is "right to express frustration" about the "massive demand" for test which has increased hugely in the last few days.
