Melanie Martinez Mrs Potato Head Reaction | A song about image

Tonight was a Melanie Martinez Reaction with her song Mrs Potato head. It was recommended by a viewer a week or so back, so thanks very much for suggesting this!

Straight away we know the song is going to be about image. We open up with a TV advert about attracting men by taking slimming pills, whilst Melanie (I assume it’s her, anyway) watching in tears while she eats biscuits (cookies for my US viewers 😄) she runs to the bathroom and takes what I think is some kind of tablet and the camera then pans back to the TV, where we start to see the tv actor’s perspective.

Basically the woman looks like she is made to feel ugly by her partner and this is backed up by lyrics about seeing a professional if you want to feel sexual. She undergoes some surgery only to find out the root of her insecurities aren’t actually with her at all.

Musically, there was nothing of note, but I don’t think the aim of the song was to have anything special in there. Interesting song with an important message.
