Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, told House lawmakers that having Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice President Joe Biden, on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma “could raise the appearance of a conflict of interest." Yovanvitch was responding to questions from Rep. John Ratcliffe, R-Texas, as part of a public hearing in the impeachment probe against President Donald Trump. The impeachment probe centers around a July phone call in which Trump asked the president of Ukraine to investigate his 2020 rival, Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
