Muddy socks! That’s not what gumboots are for!
The kids explore the Allan Turner Walkway and bridge in Tamahere. There are some good little puddles to play in. One of them has a long dead hedgehog in it. It's quite disgusting, but the kids think it's great to hit it with sticks. At the end of the walk River finds a big muddy puddle with its own water supply, which apparently is a great place to take of your gumboots and get covered in mud.
