1,000 People Homeless Afer 50 Gas Cylinders Explode In Lucknow

A massive fire broke out in Vikas Nagar area of Lucknow, destroying more than 280 shanties. 1,000 people were left homeless, most of them migrant workers living in the settlement. The fire spread rapidly through the densely packed huts on Wednesday evening. Around 50 LPG gas cylinders reportedly exploded, making the blaze more intense and difficult to control.

No deaths were reported in the incident. However, many residents lost all their belongings and had to flee quickly to save their lives. Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot soon after the incident was reported. Nearly 20 fire engines worked for several hours to bring the fire under control.

Police and disaster response teams also joined rescue and relief efforts. Nearby areas were evacuated as a precaution to prevent further damage. Authorities have started shifting affected families to temporary shelters. Relief materials like food, water, and clothes are being provided to the victims.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Preliminary reports suggest it may have started due to a short circuit that triggered a cylinder explosion.
