Bulgaria. Sunny Beach, massive airport rebuild in 2025/26.

News has come of huge investment in the local airport serving Sunny Beach in Bulgaria. Burgas Airport will unfortunately need to be closed for months during the much needed rebuilding works. This is costing up to 50 million Euros according to information given to the press by the airport operators. The main runway will be completely replaced, initially built in the 1960's and with improvements later, it is unable to handle the projected future traffic as tourism expands on the Black Sea.

We tell you about this exciting development ,also walking the resort to see what is happening in December and find more new businesses open this winter period.

We live in the local area and film the resort all year round having retired here from the UK, now living in a village location just a few minutes drive away but also maintaining the apartment in Sunny Beach itself we originally purchased for holidays.
