Woodworking Truck Top Speed Challenge. Wooden PickUp Test

A group of woodworking enthusiasts from Texas created an unusual challenge by placing a pick-up truck on a treadmill and measuring its top speed. The team used a Ford F-150 and placed it on a flat treadmill, set at a maximum inclination of 5%. With the wheels spinning freely, the treadmill reached its maximum speed of 12 mph, while the pick-up truck topped at 8 mph. The experiment was done to simulate the conditions in which a hovercraft would perform, as the group is planning to build one for their next project.
