U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has come under fire for wearing a $50,000 Rolex while delivering a tough-on-immigration message from CECOT, a high-security prison in El Salvador.

In a video shot at the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (CECOT)—El Salvador’s controversial mega-prison—Noem, 54, stood in front of rows of silent, caged inmates, warning illegal immigrants about the consequences of breaking the law.

However, instead of her stern message, what caught public attention was the flashy timepiece on her wrist—a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in 18K gold, estimated to be worth between $40,000 and $60,000.

A Symbol of Power or a Tone-Deaf Display?
The Washington Post reported that Noem's Rolex is one of the Swiss luxury brand’s most expensive models. According to watch experts, it appears to be the Daytona Ref. 116528 or 126508, featuring a champagne-colored dial, black counters, and signature chronograph pushers.
