Contrary to popular belief, Airborne wind turbines are not complex. They are cheap and can be set up in a very small time. As of December 2018, commercialisation tests are being carried out at numerous sites across the globe.

There are many designs. Some are lighter than air while other systems are heavier than air. The biggest Airborne Wind Turbine at present can produce 600 KW of power.

Using them, energy can be produced for as low as 3 cents per kWh
