Finnish Air Force HX Fighter Program candidates: Saab is offering the JAS 39E Gripen and JAS 39F Gripen jets alongside the Saab Globaleye AEW&C survellance aircraft as Finnish Air Force's next equipment.
Finland is purchasing a new fighter jet type to replace the F/A-18C Hornets.

In the modern battlefield, fighters will have to act in high-threat environments such as contested air space and handle Integrated Air Defence Systems. Gripen E/F carries a variety of both active and passive measures to disrupt enemy efforts and protect itself and other friendly units. Its advanced electronic warfare system, similar to an electronic shield, allows disruption of the enemy’s ability to function effectively. This can be used either to assist in destruction of enemy assets or simply to reduce the enemy’s understanding and ability to react. All this while ensuring mission success, using the latest weaponry and countermeasures.

GlobalEye:
With highly increased detection range and over 11 hours of operational endurance, GlobalEye AEW&C is perfectly suited to fulfil the most demanding operational requirements. Particularly since it has the ability to detect low-observable air targets in heavy clutter and jamming conditions and also can detect and track maritime targets out to the elevated horizon and small jet-ski or RIB sized vessels at very long distances.
Kauhava Air Show 2020 is the main airshow in Finland 2020 season. It takes place at Kauhava, the ex home of the Finnish Air Force Flight School and one of the home bases of Finnish military aviation.

Sotilaslentokoulutus ja harrasteilmailu esittäytyvät Ilmailuliiton päälentonäytöksessä
Suomen Ilmailuliiton päälentonäytös Kauhava Air Show 2020 järjestetään Kauhavan lentokentällä 29.–30. elokuuta 2020 kello 10–18.00. Käytännön järjestelyistä vastaa Kauhavan Wanhanajan Lentopäivät ry, joka järjestää hiljaisen koronakesän näyttävintä tapahtumaa.
Kauhava Air Show tekee kunniaa Kauhavan perinteikkäälle sotilaslentokoulutukselle. Kauhavan taivaalla nähtäviä koneita ovat Stieglitz, Viima, Tiger Moth, Saab Safir, Fouga, Vinka sekä Hawk.
Suomen Ilmavoimat järjestää molempina päivinä F/A-18 Hornet ja Midnight Hawks -näytökset. Myös Ruotsin Ilmavoimat esittäytyvät viikonloppuna Kauhavalla.
Maavoimat tuo tapahtumaan NH90-kuljetuskopterin sekä Hughes MD500 -kevythelikopterin. Rajavartiolaitos puolestaan esittelee näytöksessä AW119 Ke Koala -kevythelikopteriaan.
Harrastepuolen kalustossa on esillä kaikki lajit: yleisöä viihdyttävät Fouga-tiimi, Arctic Eagles, Voikosksen Safirit, Suomen Ilmailuopisto sekä taitolentomaajoukkue. Lisäksi luvassa on purjetaitolentoa, pohjalaisia taitolentäjiä ja laskuvarjohyppääjiä.

Tapahtuman suunnittelussa ja järjestelyissä on tehty tiivistä yhteistyötä viranomaisten kanssa ja noudatamme annettuja suosituksia ja määräyksiä. Tiedotamme järjestelyistä jo etukäteen tapahtuman nettisivuilla sekä luonnollisesti tapahtuma-alueella, kertoo Kauhavan Wanhanajan Lentopäivät ry:n puheenjohtaja Tapio Pitkänen.
