How Many Ways Can 15 People Be Divided into Groups of 3, 8 and 4? | WAEC Further Maths 2026 MCQ Q27
WASSCE Further Mathematics 2026 | MCQ Question 27 | Combinations — How Many Ways Can 15 People Be Divided into Three Groups of 3, 8 and 4?
In this video, I solve and explain Question 27 from the WASSCE Further Mathematics 2026 Multiple Choice paper — a combinations question where you calculate the number of ways 15 people can be divided into three distinct groups of 3, 8, and 4 in that order.
This is a classic combinations problem that students either nail or completely fumble depending on whether they understand the logic of successive selection. After this video, you'll know exactly how to set it up and knock it down every time.
What this lesson covers:
✅ Understanding why this is a combinations problem, not permutations
✅ Setting up the solution as ¹⁵C₃ × ¹²C₈ × ⁴C₄
✅ Computing each combination step by step
✅ Multiplying the results to get the total number of ways
✅ Why the order of selection matters and how "in that order" affects the working
✅ How to handle large combination values efficiently under MCQ time pressure
📌 This is Video 27 of 40 in my series solving every MCQ from the WASSCE Further Mathematics 2026 exam — one question per video, fully explained.
Just 13 more to go — keep pushing all the way to the finish line!
