DIR EN GREY - 我、闇とて... [eng sub] LIVE HD

Decided to keep the intro for this one as well, skip to 2:23 to go straight to the song.
"Ware, yami tote...", meaning "Even if I am darkness...". For more on this, take a look at the annotations.
This is taken from the TOUR16-17 FROM DEPRESSION TO______[mode of UROBOROS] live and was requested by Spooka.
It took me longer than I thought, but it's a deep song that required going over the lyrics again and again to at least get close to doing it justice.

Translation by me.
Annotations:

Title translation: "Even if I am darkness..." - Another case where I had to look into old Japanese grammar since とて (tote) is rather old, and sometimes, but rarely used nowadays. Grammatically it can mean three different things, but what is most likely in this case (and the one time it is used within the lyrics, "Even if it's nothing but darkness...") would be (in modern Japanese) 〜であっても; 〜だからと言って ("Even if it is..."; "Just because it is..."). I confirmed with native speakers that this seems most likely, however I do realize nuance can be tricky when Kyo uses old grammar.

"Inbetween those all too common words I start to break - Over and over, where am I?" - Note that "over and over" might refer to "[...] I start to break".

"Will you allow me to live?" - In contrast to "I still want to feel you just a little bit" that comes right before this line, the wording suddenly becomes formal, indicating that the context either changes to a very polite one, or that the addressee changes. (For example, he first says "I want to feel you", while him asking next "Will you allow me to live?" might be directed to a different group of people who have a say about his life. Since I am already heavily interpreting in this example, please just take it as a means of clarification).

"At least I will turn this moment into my voice - To qualify for a future" - "This moment" might also simply be "the present". Note that "To qualify for a future" is me connecting these two lines. If you want to stay 100% literal it would be "At least I will turn this moment into my voice - Qualification for the future/tomorrow".

"The proof by the name of living..." - As in "the proof that is called "living"". This is what it literally says in Japanese, however I do believe they named their other tour "UROBOROS -with the proof in the name of living-" after this line (and it appears translated in this manner on the screen in this performance as well).
---------------
I do not own Dir En Grey or any of their music or performances.
I translate for fun and wanted to share this translation.

Thank you for watching!
