Minicoy, the southernmost island of #Lakshadweep, lies approximately 398 km southwest of the Indian coast (Coast of India, COI) and about 450 km away from Malé, the capital city of the Maldives. This positioning not only showcases Minicoy's strategic importance due to its proximity to major maritime routes but also underlines India's intent to project power and secure its maritime interests in the region.
