June 30, 2012 - Coppell to Cimmaron and Day 1

Coppell, Texas to Springer, NM to stay in nine rooms of the Oasis Hotel.
Dinner at Eliza’s Cafe and some fruit from a road-side vendor.

Next morning our last non-Philmont meal for a while: breakfast at the Brown Hotel.

Arrived at Philmont at 9am and start the process: check in, orientation, physical, ranger assignment, equipment issue.

Opening ceremony as the sun sets.
