The behavior change of Juicy the amazon after she was adopted into a loving family
This video is 2 of Juicy's dads (one is previous fostered dad) that were talking about the behavior change of Juicy after she was adopted into a loving family. She likes her pellets, apple and loves sharing dinner with human family. But, she refused to eat any veggies.
I cooked, and bought over some wild rice, brown rice, grains, beans that were mixed then frozen in baggies. I told that family to add fresh chopped fruit and veggies into mashed when her dinner time comes. Just keep trying, one of these days, it may just take a little bit of time and a few different strategies. She will probably surprise you.
Today, they are the parrots that are the most loving, the most bonded to their human owner, the most integrated into their surrogate human family. Many of people thought that a parrot would be less demanding than a dog or cat. In fact, parrots require considerably more time and attention than dogs and cats.
It really doesn't matter how the parrot came into your life. It's yours now. It depends on you to do what is best for it and you can't do that unless you understand what makes it tick. Parrots, like all animals, decide who their relatives are depending on who cares for them as infants - not what they look like.
You have more ability to modify your behavior than your parrot does to modify his. Be prepared to make the majority of compromises.
