Lucet techniques 2 Add buttons, beads, charms

This video tutorial by Noreen Crone-Findlay shows how to add buttons, beads, charms and found objects when making a cord with a Lucet. The cord can then be used in all kinds of ways to embellish knitted, woven, crocheted or purchased garments or accessories. It can also be used as a wrap bracelet. The Lucet is used to make a cord similar to spool knitting or icord, but is so much easier than either of those. Lucets are wonderful tools that have been used for thousands of years. The Vikings made all kinds of cords with Lucets- for drawstrings, bag handles, shoelaces and many other things. This is the second of 4 videos in which Noreen shows Lucet cord techniques. One of the wonderful things about Lucets is that you can make a huge range of sizes of cords- if you want a thin cord, use thin threads. Want a thicker cord? Use thicker yarn, fabric strips or combinations of yarns and threads held together.
