Phased array scientific illustration #blender #geometrynodes

This is a representation of the beam forming of a 52 element phased array radar. This uses a combination of Blenders geometry nodes and shader nodes to make this effect.
The beam is formed by offsetting each of the 52 individual antennas to a different phase. This leads to a pattern of constructive and destructive interference which forms the beam.
This type of system is used in some radar and communication equipment.
It's something that I would like to try making one of these days.
