Excessive screen time is linked to increased risk of anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, and early-onset dementia.
So the first time in taking action to deal with this is to assess which part of it is ‘excessive’, because screen time is not inherently bad.
An easy way to figure out what is ‘good’ from what is ‘bad’ is if there is an intention to use your phone, and if it makes you feel better after you use your phone.
So before you pick up your phone, pause, and ask yourself, ‘why am I doing this?’ and ‘how does this make me feel?’.
With these two simple questions, you will be on your way to reducing your unwanted screen time.
