what the American & English page of wikipedia does not tell.

With the foundation of US persons-long-distance traffic society Amtrak on the 1st May, 1971 all trains were laid still between Chicago, Memphis and New Orleans up to Panama Limited.

Besides, Amtrak pursued the "City of New Orleans"...
still some months further, before he found his temporary end.

@ least in 1981 Amtrak called the night train operating back..
at that time in the city meanwhile substantially more known by the song of the same name of New Orleans around,
and pursues the distance since that time under this name.
