Rain Outside and Water Inside Cockpit - Flying Over Complete Nothingness

Watch in 4K! Out by the Utah/Nevada border in the middle of nowhere, two sailplanes (gliders) struggle to stay out of summer thunderstorms, away from restricted military airspace, and get high enough to be able to at least glide to safety (the first farm fields) 50+ miles away. Ok - that was about as dramatic an opening statement as I could make it but it really was an exciting day of soaring with my friend Josef far into the abyss called the American West Great Basin. The storms were really concerning because they were blocking out path back home to Nephi airport over 130 miles (220km) away. This is just a small snippet of the fun and drama during the flight.
