2025 0403 - The What, Why and How of U.S. National Grid

Despite being a federal geospatial standard since 2001, a Minnesota state geospatial standard since 2009, and endorsed by multiple national, state and nonprofit organizations for its versatility and core utility, U.S National Grid continues to be an often misunderstood and underutilized coordinate standard. This 50 minute presentation succinctly describes the what, why and how of USNG and its applicability to use cases as diverse as emergency response, statistical analysis, and asset management. It is meant to be a general introduction to the USNG.
