Puertito de Güimar, also called El Puertito, it is small town located on the east coast of Tenerife, a little more than 20 km south-west of the capital, Santa Cruz.
The best beach in Puertito de Güimar is the 700 m long Playa del Cabezo. The beach has dark lava sand, which is mostly quite coarse.
The water deepens rather abruptly, but the beach is well protected against waves on windy days, thanks to the breakwaters.
Along the beach has run the promenade with palm trees and benches. From here, there is a wonderful view of the beach and the sea, and the colourful buildings./
