Trump HIT with the LAWSUIT HE FEARED on CORRUPT SCHEME!!!

Attorneys Brian Kabateck and Shant Karnikian break down the 29-page federal lawsuit filed by former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn and active D.C. Metropolitan Police Officer Daniel Hodges to block Trump's $1.776 billion Anti-Weaponization Fund. Both officers were beaten defending the Capitol on January 6. Hodges was nearly crushed between metal doors and had a rioter try to gouge his eyes out. Both have received death threats since testifying publicly. Their complaint opens: "In the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century, President Donald J. Trump has created a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to finance the insurrectionists and paramilitary groups that commit violence in his name." Brian and Shant walk through the legal architecture: the APA claim that no statute authorizes the fund's creation, the argument that the Judgment Fund can't be used to settle a fabricated lawsuit, and the sharpest theory, a 14th Amendment claim that the Constitution prohibits the United States from assuming debts "incurred in aid of insurrection." The officers argue the fund will directly finance the Proud Boys and others on whose retribution lists they now sit. One of their attorneys is a former federal prosecutor who prosecuted January 6 defendants. CREW and a former January 6 prosecutor filed additional lawsuits the same week.
