Land Rover Series 3 Restoration - Bad Vibrations Fixed - Part 50
Hi Guys and welcome back once again to another episode in my Land Rover restoration project. It's funny, when I started putting these videos together I guessed that it could even reach 50 episodes, and here we are. And still going strong. I guess it will simply never end.
In this video, I finally get to the bottom of the vibration issue I discovered while driving, but couldn't have done it without your help. Although I only really mention one person in the video, all of your suggestions were both very helpful and reassuring, thank you all very much. I mention Colin at Whitehouse & Sons specifically because he is a very nice guy and knows these gearboxes inside out. He has also been very helpful with many issues I have had along the way, not only this one. So I think he deserves special praise.
It is a great relief to get this sorted, as I don't think I could face another gearbox rebuild. Although you all know I would have done it if need be. We cant leave this old girl standing.
Just to bring you all up to speed, I have also included an update on the work I have been doing to the rear tub. It very satisfying work and brings the Landy one step closer to being road worthy.
Lastly, I thought I would include the images of the abandoned garden Rover down in Bavaria. As one of you said, it surely is a real garden relic but I put a cheeky offer in anyway. Which got declined :( The owners simply want too much money for it, but the panels are indeed all pretty straight. I think it has spent most of its life in that exact same spot. It looks like it has grown roots!
I hope you enjoy the video and as always, thanks for watching.
