Stars and the Sun
There are millions of stars in the sky. We cannot count them.
At night we often see lots of stars. They shine brightly in the sky.
Stars are big balls of fire, but they look tiny because they are very far from earth.
If you look at the stars carefully, you will find that they make patterns in the sky.
An example of such is the GREAT BEAR.
The sun is also a star that we can see during the day.
It appears bigger in size because it is nearer to the earth than other stars.
The sun looks like a big, yellow ball of fire. It is very hot.
It shines brightly during the day.
All living things need the sun. Without the sun there would be no life on earth.
The sun gives us light and heat.
The sun rises from the East every morning.
And sets in the West every evening.
Sunrise brings us the day.
Sunset brings us the night.
Seven sunrises and sunsets make up a week.
