Programming the ES-8 to Control Strymon BigSky/Timeline/Mobius On/Off // Effectively Adding Loops!
We dive into some basic MIDI programming that can greatly affect your rig!
Using the MIDI controlled bypass on/off of these pedals can allow you to free up a couple of loops on your switcher, while still controlling the pedals (effectively adding a few loops onto the switcher). For instance, you have maxed out your ES-8 with pedals (as the rig we built in this video did) but want to run the Strymon Timeline & BigSky at the end of your signal chain. Controlling their bypass on/off functions via MIDI allows you to program patches turning these pedals on/off as if they are in loops of the ES-8.We show this on a Boss ES-8; however you can do this on any MIDI controlled switcher. The only difference will be how you get to the MIDI settings on the switcher, the CC commands and Values do not change.Want step by step instructions?
