Why did Plo Koon wear a mask?

Plo Koon was a member of the Kel-dor Species native to the planet Dorin. Unlike most planets, Dorn's atmosphere was mostly made up of helium and another gas known as Dorin gas. Kel-dore were required to wear a mask that covered their eyes, nose and mouth to filter out toxic oxygen as if they didn't they would instantly be blinded and they would suffocate. As we saw in the clone wars, these masks also had the added benefit of helping kel-dor such as Plo Koon survive in the vacuum of space.
