Tense
Tense is the form of a verb which denotes the time of an event, Action or the state.
There are three main types of tense.
1. Present
2. Past
3. Future
Each is divided into four parts
1. Indefinite
2. Continuous
3. Perfect
4. Perfect continuous
Present indefinite Tense is also four kinds
1. Present Indefinite Tense
2. Present Continuous Tense
3. Present Perfect Tense
4. Present Perfect continuous Tense
Today I am going to teach you Present Indefinite Tense
Structure – Subject + verb (1) +Object
Example – Affirmative Sentence
• I read a book.
• We read a book.
• He reads a book.
• The man smokes.
• The sun rise in the east.
• The boy reads a book loudly
Negative- Subject +do/does + verb (1) + object
• You do not write a letter.
• He does not write a letter.
• I do not drive a car
• She does not drive a car
• The boy does not carry an umbrella.
• I do not get up at 6 a.m.
Integrative
• Do you hate the poor?
• Does he fly a kite?
• Does she tell a lie?
• Do we obey our parents?
Present Indefinite – It is used to express habitual action, general or eternal truths, the actions that take place in present, to introduce quotations, to express a future event that is part of a fixed timetable or programme.
