It has come to my attention that this trick is exactly the same as “Open Perception” by Raj Madhok, published in Joshua Jay’s column “Talk About Tricks” in Magic Magazine (August 2004). I independently came up with the same trick, (I can’t remember when but it was a lot later than 2004, and therefore the trick remains his.) He has generously offered to let me keep the video up.
