How to Power up a dead iPhone 7 (your iPhone won't turn / power on) in a worst-case scenario

When my wife's iPhone 7 mysteriously wouldn't turn on one day, we tried everything (hard reset, leaving charger plugged in overnight, etc.). We took it to the Apple store and after running their diagnostics, they said it was completely dead.
My wife wanted one last shot at salvaging any remaining data from her phone, so I went ahead and tore it down, soldered some power leads to the battery supply connector, then connected a DC power supply to see if I could power the phone directly (bypassing the lightning connector, etc.).
And guess what? It worked! I was able to breathe life into an iPhone declared dead by Apple.
Check out the video. Now we're able to transfer any unsaved files onto the new device...
NOTE: Battery is actually 7.45 Whr (not 7.2 as I mention in the video)
